MJR Controls
was established in 1971, initially to meet the growing demand
for a specialist electrical, electronic and control system
servicing and repair company generated by the expanding manufacturing,
petrochemical and process industry in the Teesside area.
During
this period of expansion Teesport grew rapidly with a significant
increase in the number of vessels visiting the river. This
increase in traffic resulted in additional demand for a company
that was able to carry out complex
electrical & electronic repairs to visiting vessels.
During
the 1970's and early 1980's MJR Controls became well established
in the area and built up a strong customer base which included
many international petro-chemical & manufacturing companies,
shipping agents, owners and operators. The increasing complexity
and integration of electrical & electronic control systems
into all types of process equipment & machinery resulted
in increasing demand for the range of services that we had
to offer and rapid expansion followed.
In the
last few years we have consolidated our position as a leading
specialist electronic & electrical control system repair
company and continued to expand our customer base and range
of services.
In the
late 1980's and early 1990's the increase in complexity of
marine automation equipment and the experience gained by us
over the past decade led to increasing numbers of requests
from ship owners for MJR Controls to provide service cover
worldwide. The next few years saw the company transform from
providing mainly local industrial service to complete worldwide
marine service coverage.
Operating
from offices
and workshops in the North East of England we are able
to respond very quickly and flexibly to customer service requirements
whether local, national or international. Over the past years
we have built up a team of highly experienced field service
personnel that are able to travel at very short notice to
most locations. Field personnel are fully backed up by our
modern, well equipped electronic service workshop facilities
staffed by experienced service technicians and an efficient
spares department.
Complementing
our existing service & repair operations we now have in-house
electronic, electrical & instrument design facilities
and have successfully completed a number of diverse high profile
turnkey design,
build and installation projects for major clients. Staffed
by professional engineers with wide ranging experience of
the marine, process and petro-chemical industry we can manage
the complete design life cycle from initial concept to the
final stages of installation, commissioning and client hand
over.
Over
the last few years we have have seen increasing demand from
customers who require a single multi-disciplined supplier
to meet the majority of their service and supply requirements.
In order to meet this demand and reinforce our commitment
to customer service we have recently opened a mechanical
engineering facility.
