Our
JigSpin™ Conveyor Rotation System provides a rugged,
reliable and cost effective solution to the problem of rotating
jigs and assemblies carried on indexing conveyors.
The system was developed specifically for robotic painting
lines where a single robot is required to paint both the
front and rear of jig mounted automotive components.

High
quality pneumatic actuators are used throughout, driven and
monitored electronically by a compact wall/bulkhead mounted
control panel.
This provides precision control and ensures a very smooth turning
action that protects both the unit and the components/assemblies
being carried.

A positive mechanical locking system is used in the design
which ensures that the turret turns through exactly 180°
and is locked there before the conveyor indexes again.
This prevents costly damage to the conveyor and jigs caused
by the conveyor moving with the turrets unlocked.

|
Another
key design feature is the ability of the unit to reliably turn
and lock the conveyor mounted turret even when the conveyor
does not stop exactly at the specified turning position. This
often occurs as the conveyor wears and stretches.
The unit shown will carry out reliable turns with the turret
± 20mm either side of the specified stopping/turning
position, however this can be increased depending upon the application.
