| Overhaul
of Kawasaki Escher Wyss/Nunotani Keiki CPP Servo Driving Unit... |

We
have many years experience in servicing of Kawasaki Escher
Wyss CPP Control Systems, both electronically and mechanically.
A recent problem on Stena Lines' "Freeway" was
that of poor pitch response to control lever commands which
seemed to be gradually getting worse over time.

|
A
service visit resulted in us diagnosing a problem in the CPP
Servo Driving Unit. The unit could not be removed ashore for
overhaul as the vessel was in service and it was decided that
the work would be carried out on board during a normal weekend
layover period.
The unit was removed from the O.D. box and stripped completely
in order to locate the fault.

The
problem was rectified and some additional routine servicing
was carried out. The unit was then reassembled, refitted to
the O.D. box and tested.
The work was carried out over a 24hr period and resulted in
significant improvements in pitch response to control lever
commands.
