We
developed and installed a integrated production line automation
system for controlling automatic spray painting of plastic
mouldings. This process is now used extensively in the telecommunications,
consumer electronic and automotive industries.
The photo shows painting of mobile phone enclosures using
state of the art Staubli
robots.

Our
system automatically controls the entire operation including
precision indexing part conveyors, jig rotation turrets, basecoat,
clearcoat and de-ionizing robots, curing ovens and paint kitchens.
All of the separate pieces of equipment are interfaced to a
Mitsubishi A Series PLC which can run a variety of production
"recipe" programs depending upon the product being
painted.

Control
is carried out via HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) which also
display all of the critical production/process data and alarms.
Sophisticated trending and logging functions are also included
to enable automatic recording of critical process data such
as curing oven temperature and humidity. |
