Offshore & ROV Mobilization...

For the past 5 years we have been very active in the offshore telecoms, oil and gas industry and have developed our position as a leading supplier of offshore equipment mobilization services both locally and overseas. Mobilization projects are always very tightly constrained by time and budget and require a very flexible approach as requirements and specification constantly change during the duration of job.
A "can do" attitude, effective change management and an innovative approach are essential to the success of the project and our wide experience with this type of work has taught us how to effectively deliver on time and within budget.

We offer in house electrical design, installation & commissioning services together with a wide range of mobilization support activities such as general mechanical engineering, equipment/materials procurement and project management. Contact Paul Cairns for further details.

Ocean Commander

Mobilization of Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Post Lay Inspection & Burial (PLIB) spread onto Ocean Commander for CTC Marine Projects.
This project involved the design and installation of a complete electrical distribution system for the ROV spread and its integration with the ships main switchboard and electrical distribution system.
MJR Controls also supplied mechanical support services and materials supply/procurement for the project.

C-Trencher 1 was originally designed by Soil Machine Dynamics (SMD) for CTC Marine Projects for use in subsea telecom cable PLIB work. In the latter half of 2001 the machine was upgraded to provide enhanced cable burial capabilities.
As part of the upgrade MJR Controls supplied and retrofitted electronic soft starting equipment for the subsea motors in order to limit power demands from the host vessel. We also designed and project managed the full electrical installation of the system in Pusan, South Korea.

Maxita

In November 2001, Sonsub - Clough Partnership mobilized MSV Maxita at Tees Offshore Base, U.K. with a carousel spread for installation of a sub-sea flexible umbilical system for the CANYON EXPRESS project in the Gulf of Mexico.
MJR Controls carried out the full electrical installation, supplying labour and materials as required. We also co-ordinated additional equipment supply with local engineering companies.
