| Construction
of Wind Turbine Blade Transport Vessel "BladeRunner II"... |

In
autumn 2002 MJR Controls were awarded the electrical and mechanical
outfitting contract for the newbuild "Bladerunner II".
This 75m purpose built shallow draft transport vessel will
carry wind turbine blades from the NEG
Micon Rotors manufacturing plant on the Isle of Wight,
across the the Solent to Southampton docks for loading on
to ocean going vessels.

Working
closely with the designers (John
Pattisson Associates) and the vessels builders (Aveco
Teesside Ltd) the vessel was successfully delivered in Spring
2003.
We designed, installed and commissioned all of the electrical
power generation & distribution systems, propulsion control
systems and the complete bridge navigation equipment spread. |

In
addition to the electrical, navigation and control system workscopes
we provided a complete range of mechanical installation and
commissioning services.
We installed and commissioned all 3 main engines, Schottel
propulsion units, shafting, fuel and cooling systems and all
auxiliary machinery services. |
