In September 2001, MJR Controls were awarded a contract by Airtours Suncruises to replace the existing ASEA Stromberg Selma obsolete machinery monitoring and alarm system on their flagship cruiseship “MV Sunbird”.
P&O’s European Diplomat was fitted with an obsolete NUNOTANI KEIKI SEISAKUSHO CO. LTD PITCH LOGGER (MODEL NO:DP-3E) which had failed and was beyond economical repair.
Design, build and commissioning of Allen Bradley PLC based subsea cable burial plough handling control systems for The Engineering Business Ltd.
The 17 year old Torsion Meter on Tor Baltica had an obsolete micro computer (responsible for data acquisition, calculation & display) which had failed and was beyond economical repair, rendering the entire system unusable.
MJR Controls were awarded a 4 ship turnkey design, manufacture, installation and commissioning contract to retrofit Main Engine Bearing Monitoring & Protection Equipment for Andrew Weir Shipping’s “River” class fleet.
When P&O European Ferries (Irish Sea) Ltd took re-delivery of their RoPax vessel ‘Bison’ after long term charter to another operator, a major equipment refurbishment programme was required.
During the conversion of the P&O European Ferries (Irish Sea) Ltd RoPax vessel ‘European Leader’ at A&P Falmouth an additional Diesel Electric Tunnel Thruster was installed, powered from a standalone Diesel Genset.
