Tendering & Project Support Engineer

Working closely with our sales and project engineering teams, the position will involve preparation of quotations, bids, proposals and tenders and will form a critical element of our sales function. The role will also include supporting the project engineering teams with technical buying of equipment, components, sub assembles and materials to ensure that the required equipment is available to our production department in a timely manner for on time project delivery.

The position will involve preparing and presenting documentation that is customer facing, therefore a high level of literacy and attention to detail is required with a solid technical background. As our projects are generally bespoke, highly complex and customised a project engineering background rather than product background is preferred.

Electrical Design Engineer

To support our growing electrical power and automation design department we are looking for an electrical and control systems designer that can develop and draft electrical schematics and panel layouts from scratch, assist with production of project documentation and support the assembly, testing and commissioning stages. The candidate must have a high level of competence in E-Plan electrical design software and have significant experience in similar roles, being capable of working unsupervised and confidently across a wide range of equipment ranging from low power instrumentation to high power generation & distribution systems. A good practical working knowledge of switchgear, control gear and PLCs is required and 3D design and drafting experience would be a significant advantage.

Responsibilities will include: production of electrical design schematics, layouts and bills of materials and liaison with purchasing to support production and manufacturing of equipment; production of project documentation including Functional Design Specifications, FAT/SAT/SIT Procedures & Reports, Calculation Notes, I/O Lists, Alarm Lists, Cause & Effect Matrices, FMECA documentation, Spare Parts Lists and other Project QA material and providing support to the Tendering and Proposals team as necessary. The ideal candidate would also have practical hands on experience with panel building, installation and commissioning and would also be keen to participate in these stages to follow the designs from concept to completion over the full project life cycle.

We are looking for a highly motivated, practical and proactive engineer who is able to communicate well at all levels and be customer focused and commercially aware. A suitable engineering qualification is required, HNC or better, together with the relevant experience required to deliver in a demanding environment with short delivery times.

Marine Electrical & Automation Service Engineers

The role will comprise provision of international field service for a wide range of third party marine electrical and automation systems and equipment. The candidate must be familiar and experienced with shipboard systems and capable of working unsupervised and confidently on a wide range of equipment ranging from low power instrumentation to high power generation & distribution systems. A good working knowledge of electronics and PLCs is also required with the ability to fault find to board, if not component level. Short duration periods of travel both within the UK and internationally, often at short notice will be required. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and proactive engineer who is able to communicate well at all levels and be customer focused and commercially aware. A suitable marine engineering qualification, HNC or equivalent is required together with the relevant experience required to deliver.

Automation & Software Engineers (PLC & SCADA)

The role will comprise hardware & software design, commissioning and international field service of marine & offshore PLC based automation systems and equipment. The candidate must be familiar and experienced with PLC & SCADA packages, specifically Siemens S5/S7 and Wonderware InTouch. Familiarity with shipboard and offshore equipment would be desirable (although not essential) and the candidate must be capable of working unsupervised and confidently on a wide range of equipment ranging from low power instrumentation to high power generation & distribution systems. A good working knowledge of electronics is also required with the ability to fault find to board, if not component level. Short duration periods of travel both within the UK and internationally, often at short notice will be required. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and proactive engineer who is able to communicate well at all levels and be customer focused and commercially aware. A suitable degree, HNC or equivalent engineering qualification is required together with the relevant experience required to deliver.

Software Development Engineer

In order to support the ongoing development of our X-Wave Active Heave Compensation Control Platform and our Marine and Offshore Control Systems we are seeking a proactive and creative software development engineer to join our engineering team.

The role will predominantly comprise software development, testing and commissioning across a range of hardware platforms, including standard industrial PLC and SCADA systems to bespoke development of SCADA, Datalogging and Driver applications. There will also be a requirement to support the ad hoc development of smaller PLC based projects for one off projects.

The candidate should have strong software development skills in the fields of both embedded and PC based systems and proficient in one or more of the following: C, C++ & C#, Python, Labview. A good knowledge of networking, fieldbus and communications is also desirable.

Although generally an office based development role, short duration periods of travel both within the UK, internationally and offshore will be required to support commissioning and deployment of systems.

The candidate must be highly motivated, organised, capable of working unsupervised but also as an integral part of a team.
